New Global AAP Periodontal Classification Workshop Notes

Just presented the New Global AAP Periodontal Classification Workshop again this past Friday & every time I do, I realize there are a few things that need clarification. 

Firstly, the definition of Localized & generalized has been changed from sites to teeth i.e. localized is <30% & generalized is > or equal to 30% of teeth involved. 

Secondly, 5 & 6mm Pocket Depths isn’t an indicator of periodontitis (could be pseudo pockets) just as 4mm Pocket Depths isn’t an indicator of just gingivitis (could be Grade C periodontitis patient). 

Thirdly, the definitions of Reduced Periodontium:
