According to the American Academy of Periodontology, 47% of adults <65 years and 60-65% of adults > 65 years have Periodontitis (formally known as chronic periodontitis).
We know it is irreversible and never cured, only managed. So, does it make sense that in most practices only 17% of patients are on a 3 month recall when it should be 50%+?
